The aim of the business plans put forward for the competition will be to create a farming system that has, as its priority, profitable food production. It is hoped that entrants will see fit to develop novel ideas that possibly they would not be in a position to try at home. Critically, the programme will run up to the point when government implies that we will have to operate without direct support including the SFP, and the plans will need to consider this factor.
