Clients Specification to Consultants (the groups entering)

To produce a business plan to run from Oct 1st 2007 to Sept 30th 2012 that achieves a sustainable family farm on 128 hectares of prime grass land,104 hectares of conservation grassland and 537 hectares of hill ground 30 miles away in the NW. Food production must be at the heart of the plan on the understanding that Ruminant agriculture has created our landscape and maintained it over centuries and in the knowledge that the environmental schemes, as run at present, are in some cases causing deterioration.

Built into this Spec are three objectives:

1) To demonstrate to the generations coming in to farming a system of grassland farming that will offer them a sustainable future i.e. profitable.

2)To form a focal point for RMIF business groups across the North.

3) Via an interactive Web site there will be constant access to the progress of the eventual plan. Farmers around the country will be able to comment on the farms over a five year period.
